Jamu has become an inseparable part of Indonesia, especially for people in Java. Traditional jamu has been believed as a way of treating illnesses since the days of ancient kingdoms in the archipelago. Now, in modern times, as a form of preservation and socialization jamu uses, the Hari Jamu Nasional (National Jamu Day) was born.
The stipulation of jamu day began in 2008 during the administration of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). At that time, the existence of jamu was seen as fading out. To overcome this, the National Jamu Day was established on 27 May.

2022 National Herbal Day
National Jamu Day 2022 can be a momentum to re-move various jamu activists and policy makers to further advance traditional jamu.
One of the main keys in advancing traditional jamu is the existence of collectivity and continuity between jamu business actors, raw material farmers, and policy makers. Sustainable performance will create strong products and ecosystems so that traditional jamu medicine is not only special in its own country, but can also be an alternative medicine for the international consumers.
For local governments where there are jamu centers in the area, it is necessary to provide more massive support so that jamu centers in villages can compete with the bigger and more independent herbal medicine companies.
