The often-attacking fever are meriang (ordinary fever) and malaria fever (hot-cold, shiver). Fever usually lasts for 2 days. Fever that lasts for a long time is generally a sign of another disease, such as typhus. Therefore, if you have a fever for more than three days, immediately consult a doctor.

Fever can be relieved by drinking jamu. You can relieve meriang by drinking a glass of warm water mixed with palm sugar/rock sugar with a little asam (tamarind). Meanwhile, to cure malaria fever (hot-cold, shiver) is the following:

Ingredients:

  • 15 g daun gedi/panastis/mujarab (Abelmoschus Manihot, Aibika, or Queensland Greens)
  • 20 g daun kumis kucing/kidney tea plant (Orthosiphon aristatus)
  • 10 g babakan pule/blackboard tree (Alstonia scholaris)
  • Water, as required

 

How to make:

  1. Wash all ingredients clean
  2. Boiled all the ingredients
  3. Cool a few moments then drink

This jamu can be drunk 2 times a day until the fever subsides. This herbal medicine cannot reduce fever directly, but in gradual way.

You can also prevent fever by always maintaining the health and always consuming nutritious foods to maintain the body’s immune system.
