Ever experienced a hoarse voice that it’s painful even for speaking a word or two? Hoarseness is caused by several things, including chronic cough, damage to the vocal cords, allergies, thyroid gland disorders, polyps in the vocal cords, to vocal cord cancer. The most common cause is someone suffering from a hoarse voice due to a prolonged cough or allergies.

People with hoarse voices will usually be advised to consume lots of water, rest the vocal cords, not smoking, avoid caffeine and alcoholic drinks, consume lozenges, and take a shower using warm water. If you prefer alternative way to relieve the problem, in The Green Science of Jamu, we can find an alternative medicine for hoarse voice, by using pala (nutmeg).

In this case, you use pala as an external medicine or as a topical medicine. It is easy to make. You only need 1 nutmeg, 1 segment of ginger, 1 teaspoon of cloves, and 3 drops of eucalyptus oil. Mix all the ingredients and grind until it looks like a paste, and your hoarse voice reliever is ready.

Apply the herbs to the neck and let stand for 3 hours. Do this regularly to get perfect results. As a note, natural ingredients don’t work instantly, it takes time and patience to heal the problem completely.
