Indonesian spices, apart from being made into drinks/herbs or processed as a mixture of dishes, can also be processed into various kinds of snacks. Herb Cookies are snacks made from a mixture of ginger, turmeric and, kencur/aromatic ginger with a distinctive taste. Moms can make it as an alternative to healthy dishes during the upcoming Eid. This most-loved cookie contains extraordinary properties, such as increasing stamina, increasing appetite, being an antioxidant, and many others. Therefore, you should list this Herb Cookie in your Eid snack menus. Here’s the recipe.


  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g margarine
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 150 g wheat flour
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp grated mixture of ginger, turmeric and kencur

1 egg yolk

How to make:

  1. Peel and then wash ginger, turmeric and kencur. Then grate.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and cornstarch.
  3. Prepare a container for dough, add butter and margarine.
  4. Add sugar, beat until smooth then add egg yolks.
  5. Stir until smooth, add a mixture of flour and cornstarch (sifted), mix well.
  6. Add the grated ginger, turmeric, and kencur.
  7. Stir all ingredients until mix well, cover the dough for 15 minutes.
  8. Print the dough according to taste, spread the egg yolk on it.
  9. Oven for 30 minutes at 1500
  10. Remove and let stand until cold
  11. Your cookies is ready to serve.
