Srigading (Nyctanthes arbor-tristis, also known as night jasmine), a native Nepal plant, is found in many tropical and subtropical countries. Most people use srigading as a natural dye for fabrics. The public’s ignorance of the beneficial properties of the plant probably the reason why this plant is not widely cultivated.

Almost all part of a Srigading, from seeds, leaves, to flowers have their own health benefits. Srigading leaves contain mannitol, benzoate acid, and kaempferol which function as antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective agents. Srigading seeds can function as antibacterial, antifungal, and immunomodulatory substances. Srigading flowers, also contain lots of essential oils, mannitol, and glucose, function as diuretics, antioxidants, and antifilarials agents.

All in all, srigading is useful for curing fever, skin rashes, worms, and relieving hip pain. In addition, srigading can protect the liver, stimulate immunity, and eliminate dandruff.

Here is a recipe of srigading herb to prevent worms.

Ingredients

  • Srigading leaves, as required.
  • Kitchen salt, as required.
  • Pure honey to taste.

How to make

  1. Wash the srigading
  2. Mash until smooth.
  3. Squeeze the water and add salt and honey to taste.
  4. Drink it every day at bedtime.
