Jamu Pegal Linu to Stay Fit during Ramadhan Fasting

Moreover, the conditions during PSBB (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar, Large-Scale Social Restrictions) which require us to stay at home are often led us to get us easily stressed. Worse still, this PSBB time is also coincided with Ramadhan fasting month. Muslims will experience changes in their sleep patterns from their usual days. They will be more at risk of experiencing aches and pains due to insufficient sleep, just like most people who have the habit to stay up late

To prevent this problem, you can make a Jamupedia-style jamu pegal linu that you can consumed at sahur (meal to start a fasting day, at dawn) and when breaking the fast at dusk. Here’s how to make it.


  • 1 handful of remujung/kumis kucing/kidney tea plant (Orthosiphon aristatus)
  • 2 kencur/aromatic ginger rhizomes
  • 2 ginger rhizomes
  • 1/2 tsp. fennel
  • 10 cloves

How to make

  1. Wash all ingredients.
  2. Mash all ingredients until smooth.
  3. Add half a glass of water.
  4. Strain all ingredients and add a little palm sugar.
  5. The jamu is ready
