In addition to being a medicinal plant, suket teki/Java grass ((Cyperus rotundus) can also be processed into food. Indramayu, a regency in West Java, has made this innovation. Suket teki is processed into chips (snacks) with a savory taste, crunchy texture, a low bitter level, and accompanied by a distinctive aroma of teki suket. Now this suket teki have even become an iconic souvenir of Indramayu.

Chips made from these teki suket tubers are known as keripik tike (tike chips). The process of making tike chips is almost the same as making emping melinjo (melinjo chips). First, the tike tubers are roasted and then pounded/beaten until they are flat and then dried in the sun before being fried and enjoyed.
