5 Simple Tips to Prevent Chapped Lips during Ramadhan Fasting

Chapped lips due to limited intake of drinks can actually lead to serious illness. Unfortunately, most of us often underestimate this condition, as it is considered an ordinary condition. Fortunately, preventing chapped lips is simple and easy. Here are the tips.

  1. Apply Honey on Lips

Honey contains vitamin C which can moisturize your lips and make your lips fresher. Honey also contains anti-bacterial properties that can cure various beauty problems. Apply honey on the lips when breaking the fast, sahur (meal at dawn to begin a fasting day), or before going to bed.

  1. Drink 8 glasses of water a day

Drink water in a day with a pattern of 2 + 4 + 2 (means 2 glasses at breaking fast, 4 glasses at night, and 2 glasses at dawn. Water is also believed can get rid of various ailments and beauty problems.

  1. Avoid Salty and Spicy Foods

You should avoid salty and spicy foods at dawn or at breaking your fast. Because both of these foods can cause excessive thirst, so that the mouth is not properly hydrated and causes dry or chapped lips.

  1. Consumption of Vegetables and Fruits

Vegetables and fruit are high in vitamin C and rich in fiber. This leads the lips to be more nourished and not easily dry or chapped.

  1. Reduce Lip Licking

Wetting your lips with saliva makes them dry faster. It looks fresh and moisturized at first, but after a few minutes your lips will become drier than before.

So, to avoid dry or chapped lips, do the 5 simple tips above regularly. You’ll not get immediate results, but if you do it regularly, you will get maximum results.
